- The John Martin chapter was pleased to participate in American Legion Post 238 Salute to the US Army & Flag Day Celebration in honor of the 250th anniversary of the army.
- The event was the start of a day long celebration followed by 80 miles for the Legion Riders and evening festivities with food and live music.
- The John Martin chapter provide a musket salute to send the riders on their way.
- Compatriot John McFall organized the starting ceremony and provided comments on the US Army Founding.
- Chapter President Kent Salitros presented a flag certificate to the American Legion.
- State President William Behnke gave a history presentation of US flags.
- Color guard musket salute participates were Patrick Mills, Ben Porter, William Behnke, Kent Salitros with Kevin Schultz as drummer.
- Members Allen Hayne and Bruce Lautenschlager were also present in support as well as ladies auxillary members Pam McFall and Rachel Porter.
